Tenneh TJ Wilkins, a Fashion Design Professor and Designer, embodies her motto, “Live life with culture, confidence, and creativity!” With a Bachelor of Science in Design from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from the Academy of Arts University, she intertwines cultural influences, identity roles, and socioeconomic factors into her pedagogy. Tenneh’s 15+ years in the fashion industry include roles as a Fashion/Technical Designer and Couture Dressmaker.
At the beginning of her career, Tenneh founded House of Rubi, a fashion brand inspired by her West African Liberian roots. Beyond fashion, she holds a 200-hour yoga teaching certificate. Hence, she integrates holistic wellness into her teaching. Tenneh’s teaching approach also introduces students to sales strategies, entrepreneurship concepts, and online retail platforms.
Currently an instructor in the School of Fashion at Lasell University, Tenneh also enthusiastically showcases her expertise by creating tutorials and commentaries on her fashion design and creative crafts YouTube channel, Professor TJ Wilkins.
